The journey
Speech is one of the most useful AI interfaces and it can run entirely on your own computer. You build a voice command app that listens for a wake word, transcribes speech, recognises intents and responds with synthetic speech.
Everything uses open models that run offline, and you learn how audio is represented, how speech recognition models work and how to keep latency low enough to feel natural.
